Boe - I can personally attest to the devastation of porn on a family. After 5 years of struggling and all types of counseling (Christian and secular), this addiction ended my marriage. My husband would not make himself accountable and in the end, chose his addiction over me and our children. I am thankful that there are Godly men that are recognizing this powerful addiction and speaking out!!! I understand firsthand the guilt and shame that accompanies this behavior and I pray that he, as well as others, will seek the help they need to overcome this addiction. Bless you and your ministry to others! Sincerely, Michele Blackwell

Boe,

This pieace is really touching. I have known to forgive people but I try hard daily to forget the pain and move on? Any thoughts? Does forgiving eventually leads to forgetting? If I still remember why I had to frogive the person does it mean that I haven't yet frogiven fully?

This is SOOOO true! I have prayed and hoped for years that there could be developed and required a .XXX domain law. I'm a huge believer in free speech but there is such a wave of pornography targeted innocently at all age groups through casual searches on the net that many simply cannot avoid them fully. A 'porn.XXX' domain would so help in the blocking of illicit sites but still uphold the coveted free speech.

Freedom from sexual addiction is there if it's wanted. The BEST book available for real practical help to both individuals and Churches is "Pure Desire" by Ted Roberts printed in 2008. Also, if the nouse is becoming too, too tight any Celebrate Recovery.com chapter can help you put down and walk away from any number of hurts, hang-ups, habits or even full blown addictions out there. We are not designed to endure recovery, real recovery, alone. Find a group. It'll be the best thing you ever did!

My favorite verse on Freedom is Galatians 5:1...."For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand Just therefore and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery."

"Can he breakthrough the corporate veil and touch lives in this setting? Do individuals check their souls at the door when they enter the marketplace?"

What exactly is wrong with you? The corporate veil ... give me a break, the workplace is a place for .... work. Go figure right, that one might be expected to go to work, to WORK.

What is with this "check their souls at the door" you have said in other articles, who cold and sterile the workplace is. What a load of ----- . The workplace can be very exciting for many people, with out some bible pusher fluffing god talk about the place.

"Since we all have everything totally together at home there is no need to have any advice or assistance for marriage relationships, children, finances, health issues, mental or emotional bumps in the road, aging parents, or wayward teenagers, right?"

If people are having these problems, then they should seek the help of professionals in those areas. Having some chaplain (who is not a psychologist) wondering around, poking around people's personal lives on company time, is not helping anyone. If someone needs help, they should seek the help of real psychologist on their own time. Not, some preachy guy who thinks bible verses are the cure all.

"God is invading the marketplace today and finding thousands of individuals hungry for knowledge about God, but may never find their way into the walls of a church setting. "

Are you kidding me? People are searching for answers, and guys like you offer a placebo answer of "god did it" people need truths not sugar pills, to get them through the day. You are peddling snake oil and sugar pills, really.

"Most people enjoy conversations about God, heaven, and the Bible"

A statement you have not verify, but the fact is that most people are TRAINED by our culture to give respect to god, heaven and the bible. If it where another county, it may be Allah and the Quaran. No, people are not interested in god fluff, they are trained and taught to be. It is not innate as you imply, it is CONDITIONED.

Besides, there is a fastly growing number of atheist in the nation who are speaking up and saying "enough is enough" ... You should do some more homework before making such statements.

"they just do not want to be judged or condemned by some religious person who has some hidden motive."

Yes, and now you give a perfect example of the CONDITIONING, that when someone is not interested ... it is because they are worried about being judged.

"Building relationships with people long before any crisis occurs, opens the door of opportunity during the crises of life."

You mean swooping down on people in their weakest moments, to convert them and get another pew sitter to drop dollars in the offfering plate. Really, pastor are like vultures, they prey on the weak and the dying to feed themselves.

"Only you and God know for sure."

Well god is imaginary, so what you mean to say is "only you know and you can say god told you as a way of justifying harassing people at work"

Pastors are the most useless ticks of our culture

"Does everything have to be so sterile, cold and secular when it comes to work?" --- I am not sure that you should lump in secular with cold and sterile, certainly you dont mean to say that secular people are cold and sterile? Or, perhaps you do mean that ... if so that is quite ignorant.

"Why are people offended so easily when God is mentioned outside of the walls of the church?" I would never waist time in a church, but I can say I find it offensive when someone at work start preaching, because I think it is made up none sense which has been used to harm more then it has helped. Keep your religion to yourselves, some of just are not interested in hearing it.

"Is there no need in anyone’s life for a compassionate, caring and comforting God?" You must not be talking about the blood thirsty god of the bible, who had people raped and murdered. Certainly not the god of the theology which requires a human sacrifice (jesus) to make him feel better about not sending us to eternal pain and torment. This is why many of are offended by your god, you seem to have blinded yourself to the blood lust he has in the bible. Who would want that god, the one who says "you suck, so I am going become my own son, get beaten and killed, then you wont suck so much anymore" Give me a break, it is so clearly none sense.

"No one wants to be judged, condemned, or alienated because of a faith in God, nor an absence of a faith in God. " Christians are all about judging and condemning anyone who is not also a christian. Talk about alienation, you people would out law life styles which you have a problem with. And yes there are many people and an ever growing number of them who would love a world with out fairy tale gods and worthless faith.

"Every human being has been created with a desire and a thirst to know more about how we came to be, and what our purpose on this earth is?" there is no purpose other then the one we imagine, like it or not it just is what it is. As for learning how we came to be, that is what science is for. We came be through a series of events which eventually lead to our evolution and some day we will either evolve into something else or die off. Before you say "well doesn't that bother you" Nope, not at all. I did not seem to have a problem with the billions of years before I existed, so why after?

"It is a natural quest to know more about our spirituality, and who better to dialog with than with our friends and co-workers at the office that we know and trust." Oh sure, burden them with your fluffy silliness, they will like listen politely. But really, if you are seeking to know your self better, see a psychologist.

"The spirituality issue will always surface as we travel through the journey of life." Not really ... the word spirituality means everything and nothing at all. There are always issues, to be sure, but the terms you apply to them are a matter of pure semantics. There is no such thing as the spirit, at least in some real and tangible way. It is a just a word used to say everything and nothing at all.

"God’s gentle presence" I wonder if this is how you would comfort the people he drown in the flood, or the ones he opened the earth up and sucked in, or perhaps the ones he rained snakes down on, or the parents of babies he killed, or the peoples if the lands he told the Israelites to whipe out. Of course keeping the young virgins to rape later. Oh, does that offend you ... it is what your bible says. Funny how the god you guys always talk about, does not fit the character in the book you read .... talk about willfully being ignorant.

"but can’t we just allow Him a place among us as we go about our work day? Is there anything wrong with that?" let him fill out an application and submit it for review like every other applicant. Then if he is hired he can hang out at the office, but I am not sure who is interesting hiring a man whose only skills are inventive ways to murder millions at a time. Perhaps, god can get work as a terrorist. Yes, there is much wrong with people like you bringing your silly religious none sense where it does not belong. Do your job at work, and sing your kumbyyas on your own time.

What is wrong with it ? Give me a break, there is nothing right about it.

Even Paul himself said "When I was a child I spoke as a child, but when I became a man, it was time to put away childish things" So, put jesus in the box with the easter bunny and santa and grow up. Reality is waiting for you....

I can remember times as a young worker how mentioning the name Jesus / God was like the E.F. Hutton comercials but with a negative ring! Parents of the 60s had been heard to state, "Talk about anything, sports, weather and the news but never religion!" I've found this to be true .... when there is loss in an employee's life .... be there with hands open, a tissue, a basket of anything, support them in their time of crisis and Jesus is all over your face and in that place. He will open up a time for you to share in a more appropriate place and time. Christ should not stand at the business world door seeking to come in yet at the same time we need to honor our work code. A dear friend of mine used to sneak off and read his Bible while he was supposed to be on the job. We can take to heart the scripture, Pray without ceasing can also mean meditate on His Word with out ceasing. They can go hand in hand and we can go on working, making that sales pitch, hammering that nail, placing that phone call, in the work place.
Danny. I agree the work place is just the place for God.
